Yorkshire Aero Clubis a CAAapprovedflight training organisation, offering trainingtowards the Private Pilot's Licence (PPL)and associated ratings from Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Inaddition to this, we offer introductory flying lessons for those wishing to have a taste of what it's like to take control of an aircraft in flight. These introductory flying lessons make the perfect gift for the budding pilot. Introductory flights are either 30 minutes or 60 minutes in duration and can be conducted in either a 2 seater or 4 seater aircraft.
As well as flight training, Yorkshire Aero Club also offers aircraft self fly hire for qualified pilots and ground school training students completing the written exams for the PPL. Our in house examiners mean that we are a one-stop shop for all training and examination needs.

Introductory Lessons
read moreAn introductory lesson (also known as a trial lesson) can be purchased for yourself or as a gift for a friend or relative and makes an excellent present for any occasion.During your introductory lesson, your instructor will give you a pre-flight briefing which will cover the route to be flown and the safety features of the aircraft. In the aircraft an explanation of the cockpit instruments and a short brief on the effects of the primary flying controls will be given. This is to give you an understanding and an introduction to your first handling of the controls of an aeroplane. The route of the flight can be varied to incorporate your individual preferences, depending on the length of lesson purchased (either 30 minutes or 60 minutes). Favourite routes of our customers include over flying Chatsworth House, Ladybower Reservoir (Dam Busters territory!) and the Humber Bridge, all of which offering spectacular views and an unforgettable experience.

Every lesson was focussed and well-planned and both understand very well the particular pressures of developing knowledge, skills and understanding in a cockpit environment. The friendly manner they approached each session with certainly went quite some way to relieving some of the pressures involved in learning how to fly but I can say with absolute certainty that it was money very well spent. I am now a proud owner of a PPL license and will be looking to add my night rating very shortly. The fact that you can do all of this at an International airport is an added bonus (landing on Doncaster's huge runway is fantastic!)

Great instructors!
My experience with Yorkshire Aero Club was nothing short of amazing. Throughout all 7 of my recent lessons, both trainers who I had the pleasure of flying with were superb. They taught with consistent patience and professionalism, making the overall experience both enjoyable and adequately demanding. There is no doubt at all that I will be continuing my training at this facility until I acquire my PPL. To anyone who is hesitant about beginning their flying experience, I strongly reccomend starting at Yorkshire Aero Club and you will not be disappointed Value for Money
